First Robertson, then Hagee

July 15, 2003 at 8:12 pm

This is really starting to get to me. After a week of Pat Robertson getting on my nerves with his stupid comments about Liberia and the Supreme Court, I now have to read this story about John Hagee, the televangelist from San Antonio. In 2001, Hagee’s total compensation was $1.25 million. His ministry racked in $18.3 million for the year. I’m sorry, but that’s ridiculous.

Comparing Hagee to other well-known Christian leaders — Paul Crouch earned $403,700 and his wife Jan earned $347,500 from TBN; Billy Graham earned about $190,000.

It’s just sad that people like Hagee and the Crouchs are the public face of Christianity for so many people. They are accountable to no one, and they seem to have no shame.
