Snowed-In Denver Airport
I just flew through Denver about 6 weeks ago, so it’s pretty cool to see the airport from this perspective right after the airport was snowed in.

The Episcopal Church continues to disintegrate. The most recent wave of bad news comes from Virginia were some very prominent parishes have decided to leave the ECUSA (or are they calling themselves TEC these days?) and will come under the protection of the Province of Nigeria.
While the global debate rages on over what the Anglican Communion will look like moving ahead, the local debates are going to focus on whether parishes that leave the national church will be able to retain ownership of their buildings. In the case of the Virginia parishes above, the church buildings and land are worth quite a lot. Don’t expect the national church to give that up too quickly.
I can remember growing up playing with walkie talkies and CB radios and always being a little fascinated by the concept of Morse code. I had a pair of walkie talkies that include the ability to use Morse code to send messages back and forth. They each had a little metal plate on the front with the Morse code alphabet. I don’t think I ever actually used Morse code to communicate anything.
I understand the function that Morse code has had in the development of electronic communication, but I could never figure out how that applied to us in the late 20th and early 21st century. Well, the FCC has finally seen things my way.[PDF] They have decided to eliminate Morse code proficiency as part of the license requirements for amateur radio operators.

After building this site with MovableType and running it on that platform since 2003, I’ve recently switched over to WordPress. I like the WordPress interface much better, even if the nuts and bolts of building templates requires much more knowledge of PHP than I have.
I never thought I’d give up Movable Type, but there’s just too much good stuff in WordPress, including the silky smooth installation. If you haven’t considered it, I’d highly recommend checking it out.
